About The Flock
We’re a gospel-centered church in Madison, VA.
What is a church?
The word “church” doesn’t refer to a particular place or even a worship service. The Church is nothing less than the redeemed people of God. At The Flock, we gather as a local church body to elevate the name of Jesus and saturate the Madison community with the electrifyingly good news of the gospel.
The Bible uses many different images to describe the church. One of these images is of a Shepherd and a flock of sheep. The Flock Church gets its name by our common desire to make Jesus the chief shepherd of our lives and hearts.
History of The Flock
The Flock began on Easter Sunday, 2008, making it one of the new churches in Madison, VA. The church was originally planted by Mark and Donna Cook, who wanted to launch a multi-generational, contemporary church in Madison County.
After fifteen years of faithfulness, Mark and Donna have retired. God has graciously provided new leadership in the form of Pastor Chris Wiles, who lives in Madison with his wife Erica and their growing family.
Meet Our New Pastor
Pastor Chris Wiles is the newest pastor of the Flock Church. Prior to ministry, Chris served in research chemistry for the U.S. government, having earned a degree in biochemistry. After God re-directed his life, Chris earned a Master’s degree in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, and has been in ministry for over 15 years.
Chris enjoys reading, spending time with his family, and running around the Madison area.
